Auto Receptionist Transfer Time

There is currently a 5-7 second delay when selecting one Auto Receptionist option on our phone system. Is it possible to reduce the time it takes for the next set of prompts to be announced?

hi @ChrisPotterAura

Which Auto receptionist option are you referring to? Since you mention prompts, you may using an interactive voice response (ivr). Are you using a multi-level ivr?  does the delay time occur when going from one ivr level to the next level or perhaps from an ivr to another auto receptionist?

I have not experienced these delays.  You might consider opening a support ticket.

Hi Chris,

Yes, the 5–7 second delay you're experiencing after selecting an Auto Receptionist option is usually due to the default transfer and routing settings in the Zoom Phone system. To reduce this time, you can try adjusting the "Audio While Connecting" settings and ensure that the Call Handling actions (like call queues or user routing) are optimized without unnecessary steps or forwarding delays.

Also as a new user and our phone system about to go live next week - I've noticed and have timed at 5 second this delay.

This is the auto receptionist (recorded message with options) transferring to either a call queue or shared line.

5 seconds seems quite lengthy and my concern is customers will think the call has disconnected.
Will look at the above response to see if this improves the problem.

Adding my comments in case they help others searching for the same issue
