Dear All

I am an online tutor.  One of my tutees cannot join a meeting using her laptop but can using her mobile phone?  Unfortunately this cannot be a fix as she cannot use the interactive whiteboard.  I would be grateful if anybody has any suggestions.

Kind regards

Len

Without specific device and OS info I can only make guesses. Sounds like she is using the browser version or trying to sign in instead of join the meeting. Browser has lots of limitations. Client version is always preferred.

If this works please click accept as a solution.

Thanks storyhub

I send an invite by clicking on the Participants button at the bottom of the screen then Invite on the window that opens.  is that a client version?

Hello @Len4

The Zoom desktop (client) version is a standalone app you install on your computer, offering full features like virtual backgrounds, breakout rooms, and advanced meeting controls. The browser version runs in a web browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and MS Edge without installation but has limited functionality and fewer features. We would advise your participants to download an updated desktop version on their computer to join your meetings.

Your invitation does not set the version that participants use. You are using the client version, but she has a choice to use the browser or the client version. You need to tell her to install and use the client version.
